It took a week but…
A recent client, who set up her business last December, is experiencing growth in clientele. As a result, the client is seeking guidance on how to manage this growth through gaining a better understanding of business fundamentals.
During our first conversation, I asked whether she was acquainted with any other business owners in the same industry. There was one person she knew well, who had built a thriving business from scratch.
I encouraged her to connect with this person emphasizing the value of learning from somebody who has achieved what she aspires to create!
My client was apprehensive about reaching out as she doubted whether that person would agree to meet with her. I reminded my client predicting the answer when you have not asked the question is an exercise in futility.
After a week of agonising as to whether to reach out, my client did and received a positive response. Subsequently, she spent a day “shadowing” the business owner absorbing insights into the fundamentals of running a successful business.
Following the meeting, my client e-mailed me the following comment:
“My head is spinning, I tried to take in as much as I could today, and I’ve walked away feeling more inspired and confident that I’m not alone on this journey. It’s a great feeling!”
