Do Something Amazing

I took part in the winter challenge at the local EFM with the goal to row the equivalent distance from the Murray Mouth to Bow Hill being 185kms on the rowing machine over three months.

The challenge is over!   I am proud to announce I exceeded my original goal by rowing the equivalent distance from the Murray Mouth to Nildottie, a distance of 218.5kms.

In reflecting on the past three months, the three lessons I will share with my clients are:

1.    Set a ‘crazy’ goal that feels almost unachievable. If the goal does not scare you, you are not dreaming big enough!

2.   The ‘crazy’ goal must be grounded to something that is within your control to achieve. Break it down into measurable bite size chunks that will give you the sense you are on course as you deal with each chunk.

3.    The biggest challenge in achieving the ‘crazy’ goal will be your ability to ignore the stories you tell yourself about not achieving that goal. To do this you must be committed to and passionate about achieving that goal.
