On the Road Again
Right now, I am in southwest NSW on a grey nomad adventure. My phone is in the glove box and staying there. No blogs, no calls, no “quick check-ins” for the next month.
A year ago, undertaking a similar adventure exploring Queensland’s outback and the Sunshine Coast, I was terrified. I had a knot in my stomach, and a voice telling me the business would fall apart without me.
I went anyway.
This time, there’s no knot in my stomach. No catastrophizing. Just Andrea, our motorhome, and a road trip to the Gold Coast.
When I am sitting across from a business owner paralysed by the same fear I had a year ago, I tell them straight: Your business will be fine without you. You’ll come back better for having actually left.
For the rest of the adventure, I’m unreachable. Truly disconnecting from the business. Enjoying life.
If you’ve been waiting for permission to take real time away from your business, here it is. Not from theory. From someone who’s doing it right now.
